Abstract

The analysis of social policies in the 21st century requires views that address their design, implementation, and evaluation, which demonstrate the theoretical, epistemic, and political assumptions about how to intervene in the social issue and the living conditions of the population. This involves elucidating not only the institutional arrangements they entail but also the decision regarding the present and future of the subjects intervened by said policies. The definition and delimitation of what intervention, how, to whom, and where is configured in a politics of sensitivities. In this paper we propose to explore the emotions that are formed in people receiving monetary income transfer programs around said state intervention. To do this, first of all, we present some characteristic attributes of the social policies of the 21st century, as a substantial property of social intervention. Secondly, emotional polychromies are presented that give way to an emotional ecology that has been configured in people receiving social policies, which after 10 years of investigation from various research projects and methodological approaches, enable us to identify certain management of the conditions of production and reproduction of life in conditions of denial.
