Abstract

The book being reviewed, “Emotionality of COVID-19. The war against a virus”, is the result of a series of collective works that delve into the analysis of the Covid-19 Pandemic, deploying various analytical layers in the light of social theory. Based on the invitation of renowned experts from four continents, this manual reflects on and analyzes the effects of Covid-19 together with the challenges that the global pandemic poses for/in society. The outbreak of the virus that originated in the city of Wuhan-China revealed a series of questions and challenges to rethink the emotional ecologies that structure daily social interrelations. In this sense, the book articulates various theories and conceptual frameworks that provide novel perspectives on the effects of Covid-19 on emerging societies. The chapters that make it up are integrated into a common plot thread that enunciates a particular proposal that is constituted as a kick to rebuild the foundations of a critical sociology in capitalism.
