Reason, body and social resistance: (A study on the corporeality in three historical moments of reason)

Abstract

The reason is not only an epistemological aspect of human capacity. Its scope is not restricted to the epistemological studies. Since its Greek origin, the reason is a major bodily technology that Western civilization has been built from the exclusion of other knowledge and the social construction of standardized, tamed and disciplined body. The critique of reason and the emergence of alternative philosophies and aesthetic processes also involve social resistance from corporeality.
